Picture This #368 ~ Low Light/Night

I have not been able to do Picture this for a while now. Now that I am learning to use my extra time a little better hopefully that will change in the coming weeks.

Wrong season, but low light was just right in this one. Annabella didn't want to miss a thing.

A little light from the lantern as the fire dances off the wick.

Ok, for the last shot I end with an old favorite, The Moon. Now it is time for bed.

Hi Randall, great to see you. Nice picture of the kitty and the tree. I love the copper lantern and the flame and its reflection. Magic! And of course, I love the moon shot, so much detail. The moon is a favorite subject of mine and many others to photograph; you have set the bar high.

Hi Randall !! Good to see you taking part again!! Three perfect shots for the theme. The cat seems to be enjoying the lights while she waits for Santa to bring her Xmas presents. The flame from the copper lantern is beautiful. Love the simplicity of composition. Your moon shot is awesome in it's clarity and detail.

Wonderful contemplative shot of the cat and the christmas tree.

Beautiful iridescent flame in the brass fitting of the lantern in the velvet darkness of utter night.

Stupendous capture of the moon.

Rules For Weekly Challenges

The rules are similar to when Picture This was on Multiply, with a few differences. As always, please post a maximum of three photos each. The Picture This page on Blogger is optimised for image size 640 x 480, so please try to post images NO LARGER than this to avoid distorting the page or overlapping onto the right-rail. Blogger has a storage limit for photos uploaded directly to the site, so please use copy/paste of HTML from storage sites such as Flickr or Photobucket as much as you can. Unlike Multiply, Blogger does not allow posting of images in comment boxes, so anyone taking part should put their photos, along with any accompanying text, in a separate post here on the PT main page, making sure the challenge number and theme are in the title line. Please note that the posts will appear in reverse order. After the host has posted the challenge, all contribution posts will appear above it on the main page, so you will have to scroll down the main page to find the host's post.

Challenge Albums & Flickr

Unlike Multiply, Blogger does not have facility for photo albums, so Picture This now has it's own associated Flickr account, where albums will be uploaded to . Once on Flickr, they will then be cross-posted to Blogger (all of this part is done by the admins, just like the albums were on Multiply). Each challenge album will appear on it's own tabbed page, along with a Flickr slideshow of the album. The cross-post only shows the first 24 images as thumbnails, to see the whole album, either watch the slideshow, or click on the little blue link between the thumbnails and the slideshow. Only the most recent three challenge albums will show on tabbed pages, to see earlier albums, you will need to go to the Picture This Flickr page. CLICK HERE TO GO TO FLICKR PAGE. Our Flickr account has tight copyright controls, so your photos are as safe as on your own Flickr page.
