Here I am, busily packing to leave Florida and go back up north, where it is hopefully spring. But I wanted to post some pictures and comment on all of yours.

Thanks for hosting Anders and at last my naked feline has found fame, especially as he no longer lives here. He was a thankful subject for photos.

Here is a shot of the lady that serves me my cold meat at the local supermarket.

And here is my oldest son at work with his boss (and a cockatoo on his shoulder which belongs to the boss)

And I had to slip this one in. Me at the EMO Exhibion in Hannover, Germany with my boss on the right and our rep on the left being the booth hostess for the company for a week some time in the 1980's (a scanned photo)

Picture This #346 ~ Action Shots

Many thanks to Anders for hosting this week. A cool theme, I'm hoping to see some great action-captures. I had to search through my archive, as action-shots are not something I do a lot of, but managed to find some!!

Here are mine:

1) Leaping Dolphin, Seaworld, Florida.

2) Riders on the Montu rollercoaster, Busch Gardens, Florida, go through a barrel-roll.

3) I took this shot of a British Airways 747 at Windsor Castle, which happens to be under one of the outbound flight-paths from Heathrow Airport.

4) This shot might look blurry, but it contains quite a lot of action. I was driving through a rainstorm, you can see the rain on the windshield, along with the windscreen wiper in motion.

Thanks for hosting Benni, love the theme and congratulations to Belita for the banner shot.

I love taking close-ups. This was one of a horse's eye and I think I have the reflection of me taking the photo in his eye.

It is just not everyone that has a naked cat (Sphynx) belonging to the neighbour. He is no longer here, but the photos remain.

One of my experiments with reflection. The green vase was on the sideboard and the sun shining through the blinds.

I found this photo this week. I had not put it in a category so it sort of got lost. I cannot judge whether it is good, but the colours just fascinated me.

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week. She's chosen a great theme, should get some really good selections. I had a good think about this one and have decided to go with one of my favourite subjects: BIRDS.   They are great for "got it" moments!! 

Here are mine:

1) This is one of my all-time favourite shots. This flamingo was resting, but was also still alert and watching it's surroundings. It was also standing against a dark background, which helped with composition.

2) The Wood Stork is one of the ugliest birds, but I find them a fascinating subject!!

3) This parrot was struggling to stay awake on a really hot day!!

4) Emus are such comical birds, and pull some really funny faces.

I don't know how to express by words why I have chosen the photos below. It's easier to explain why we dislike something than justify the reasons why we like it, isn't it?

Picture This #345 ~ Got it!!

Hi and welcome to Picture This. Wonderful banner shot by Belita.  Magnificent colors!!

Sometimes we take pictures and are delighted when they turn out the way we hoped they would. These shots put a smile on our faces and a wish to show them around. The theme this week is pictures which you might be extra proud of, pictures that you had to work to get, or pictures which were happy accidents. Maybe you've posted these before, but feel free to post them again. I suppose another way of putting this theme is "Favorite Pictures", but I went with "Got it!" which is how I feel sometimes when I've been working to get a shot of a tough subject.

And of course, remember what I always say: the theme is not important. Having fun showing us your pictures is the main thing.

This is Tucker who ran after a ball many times so I could get this shot.

I was finally able to get a picture of these challenging flowers.

A P-51 Mustang, a harder capture than I had thought. Fortunately there was an airshow, so I had plenty of chances.

Spring is already in the air, here in Lisbon, and this weekend has been so warm that I played golf wearing short sleeves....

Hope you like my Spring flowers, though I can't tell you the respective names, hydrangeas excluded. However, I believe you are knowledgeable enough about flower names.
